“A(H1N1), le journal de la pandémie” written by Jean-Yves Nau and myself, was published by Plon this month. The most interesting thing about this project is that it would be impossible for us to write such a book now, as it is so difficult to tell a story when only part of it has already happened. We would highlight or denigrate certain aspects of past studies, we would gloss over certain information which, at the time when it became available, seemed of particular interest, we would inevitably be guilty of what epidemiologists call biasing information. And yet we are not yet out of the woods. The pandemic continues. We can even say that in our hemisphere (I’m not talking about neurology) it is only just starting. We both felt that it would be useful to continue to record events, on a regular basis, jointly, which, with the power of Internet, will become a dialogue, as the comments from our readers, whether regular or occasional, will give new life to and throw new, fresh light on events and on the society in which they occur. We have arranged with Slate.fr and PLON to continue this book on line, access free, and we invite you now to go to the site and let us have your comments.
We have called our new blog “Le journal de la pandémie 2.0” – “The story of the pandemic 2.0”.
Antoine Flahault’s blog will continue with posts on all other aspects of public health that do not directly concern H1N1pdm influenza (as the WHO sometimes asks us to call it although they do not always follow suit).
Mr Flahault, je suis actuellement élève en classe de terminale STG Mercatique (marketing). Dans le but de la réalisation d’une étude que je devrais présenter au Baccalauréat, j’ai définit une problématique qui est ” Quel a été la démarche mercatique de l’état face à la pandémie de grippe A ?”. Afin de compléter cette étude, j’ai décidé de m’entretenir avec un professionelle de la santé. Suite à mes recherches, j’ai donc penser à vous car vous me paraissez le plus adapté pour répondre à mes questions., votre sens critique et analytique conviendrait parfaitement.
